Fortner Engineering is an FAA Certified Repair Stations specializing in the hydraulic component maintenance requirement airlines, repair stations, OEM's and distributors worldwide. With nearly 60 years of industry experience our company has established itself as a leader in aviation.  Through decades of experience, Fortner Engineering has developed a broad range of repair capabilities for all commercial aircraft types. 

A key component of this position is to improve work flow, implementing standard work and instill continuous improvement through problem solving methodology. Participation and cooperation with and in corporate strategic programs and other Wencor businesses.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Repairs and/or assembles small aircraft components that require precise placement.
  • Orders parts for repairs and assemblies.
  • Documents repairs and assembly work.
  • Uses hand tools and shop power tools.
  • Reads blueprints.
  • Performs testing and interprets results
  • Assemble more complex components that require precise placement
  • Read and interpret drawings and blueprints with GD&T requirements.
  • Design and make simple tooling to facilitate in the assembly of parts.
  • Look for process improvements
  • Assist Assembly Supervisor as required
  • Issuance of FAA release documentation pertinent to all items released to service by the Repair Station.
  • Inspection continuity, documentation, and final inspection of all items processed by the Repair Station.
  • Identifying, controlling, and segregating maintenance items in a serviceable or unserviceable state.
